Leisure Constraint Negotiation Strategies among Serious Leisure Participants in Swimming: Experiences of Facility Use Restriction Due to COVID-19

The purpose of this study was to explore the leisure constraint negotiation strategies adopted by people participating in swimming as a serious activity context COVID-19 using qualitative research methods. conducted over five months, from September 2020 January 2021, via use snowball sampling. Six unmarried employees their 30s living Seoul and Incheon, Korea, were participants study. Data collection through in-depth interviews, two or three times among each participant. For data analysis, all recorded contents stated transcribed. results are follows: first, strategies, cognitive “supernatural attitude toward swimming” “positive post-COVID-19 period”; second, behavioral derived “substitution motivation” “participating facilities crowding management.” Based on these results, it can be concluded that special experiences only for within framework facility restrictions caused due further suggested ways improve practical management sports activities based facilities.
